Why fit test?

Face fit testing has been a requirement in COSHH
(Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) since 2002
where it states that “selection should include a fit test to
ensure the wearer has the correct device”. There is no one mask that will fit everyone, so it is important that all tight
fitting RPD’s (Respiratory Protective Device) being used to protect the wearer is fit tested. All fit testing should be carried out in accordance with HSE INDG479, and, by a competent person. We have fully qualified Fit2Fit Accredited trainers who
will train your staff to carry out fit testing. Alternatively we could complete your fit testing requirements on site or at our fully-equipped training centre.
